Fire department warns: Do not leave electronic devices on beds while charging. This is to prevent batteries from overheating and causing fires..

The General Fire Force warned of the dangers of unsafe use of smart electronic devices, stressing the importance of adhering to preventive guidelines to avoid overheating of batteries and the resulting fires inside homes.

The Director of Public Relations and Media at the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, stressed to Al-Rai the need to deal carefully with smart electronic devices, especially mobile phones, tablets and laptops, particularly during the charging process.No over-the-bed charging

Al-Gharib stressed the importance of not placing devices while charging on the bed or any flammable surfaces, as this may cause a rise in battery temperature and increase the chances of a fire.

He called for not leaving devices connected to the power source for long periods or during use in a way that may lead to overheating, while also stressing the need to pay attention to any abnormal indicators that appear on the device or battery.

Safety first

Brigadier Al-Gharib also stressed that following simple safety procedures when using electronic devices contributes to reducing the risk of fires, calling on family members not to take the risks of batteries and smart devices lightly.

He stressed the need to act quickly in the event of any emergency, to immediately call the emergency number 112, to stay away from the source of danger and not to endanger people while trying to deal with the fire.
