On Sunday evening, His Royal Highness Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman crowned the Saudi team (Falcons) as champions of the 2025 Esports World Cup.

The ceremony took place during the tournament's final event in Riyadh, which featured 2,000 professional players representing 200 teams from 100 countries. They competed across 25 tournaments featuring the world's most popular esports titles.

The champion team topped the tournament standings with 5,200 points, claiming the grand prize of $7 million from the total prize pool exceeding $70 million—the largest in the history of global esports. Prizes were distributed to winning teams, players, and participants based on their rankings.

The seven-week tournament attracted over three million visitors to the Boulevard Riyadh City area, while more than 750 million viewers followed the competitions across digital platforms, accumulating over 350 million hours of watch time. The events were broadcast in 35 languages to over 100 countries.

Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, stated that the Kingdom successfully delivered an unprecedented global experience that combined competitive excellence with captivating entertainment, emphasizing that the tournament marked a turning point in the history of global esports.

It is worth noting that the Esports World Cup originated from a Saudi initiative announced by the Crown Prince in 2023. Riyadh hosted its first edition in 2024, and this year's second edition showcased unparalleled organizational and technical standards, solidifying Riyadh's position as the global capital of esports.
