The Arab Group at the United Nations: "The situation in Gaza constitutes a humanitarian crisis demanding urgent action by the Organization..

The Arab Group at the United Nations stated that "what is occurring in the Gaza Strip cannot be characterized as a conventional armed conflict, but rather constitutes a humanitarian crisis demanding urgent and effective action by the Organization, particularly by the General Assembly."

This statement was delivered by Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, on Thursday evening on behalf of the Arab Group during the resumed tenth emergency special session of the UN General Assembly concerning Israel's unlawful occupation practices in Palestinian territories.

Ambassador Al-Saadi emphasized that the General Assembly meeting aims to "end the tragedy, not repeat words," noting that "the Security Council's inability to fulfill its responsibilities due to veto use does not absolve the international community or other nations of their duty to act."

For his part, Palestine's Permanent Observer to the UN, Riyad Mansour, called upon the international community to take all necessary measures to halt what he termed "genocide." Mansour stressed Israel's obligation to comply with international humanitarian aid provisions for all Palestinians, noting that the occupying power continues to disregard UN resolutions and international humanitarian law.

He added, "This conflict won't end through more massacres, occupation, displacement, or annexation, but only by breaking the cycle of violence through securing our fundamental rights and achieving shared peace and security."

The Palestinian official expressed gratitude to global advocates working to end the Gaza conflict, stating, "These individuals stand for humanity itself."
