Brussels/Abu Dhabi - On Sunday, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévôt expressed his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for extraditing three wanted individuals to Belgium, praising the ongoing productive cooperation between the two countries in justice, security, and combating organized crime.

In a post on platform X, Prévôt stated: "I welcome this morning's extradition of three individuals from the UAE. We extend our thanks to the Emirati authorities and all relevant judicial, police, and diplomatic entities for their effective and constructive cooperation."

He added: "Combating drug trafficking, international crime, and impunity remain our shared priorities," emphasizing the importance of continued joint efforts and coordination in this field.

Earlier today, Dubai Police announced they had handed over to Belgian authorities three individuals wanted for involvement in cross-border organized crimes following their arrest. The suspects were subject to Interpol Red Notices and were listed on both Interpol and Europol's wanted persons lists.

The police clarified that this operation reflects the UAE's commitment to:

  • Strengthening cooperation bridges with global law enforcement agencies

  • Combating all forms of transnational organized crime

  • Building a robust global security framework based on:
