Acting Director General of Kuwait's Public Authority for Industry (PAI), Shamlain Al-Juhaydli, affirmed on Monday that enhancing quality culture in factories serves as the cornerstone for developing institutional performance and increasing the competitiveness of Kuwaiti products. This contributes to establishing the country's position as a reliable industrial hub in regional and global markets.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after inaugurating the ceremony honoring factories winning the Arab Quality Award at PAI headquarters, Al-Juhaydli stated: "Factories' investment in developing their standards and ensuring product quality is a direct investment in strengthening Kuwait's economy and a genuine supporter of achieving 'New Kuwait 2035' vision."
He explained that Kuwaiti factories winning prestigious Arab awards like the Arab Quality Award doesn't merely honor institutional performance levels, but clearly demonstrates that Kuwait's industrial sector can transform into an effective developmental engine supporting the national economy and providing sustainable investment and employment opportunities.
In his opening speech, Al-Juhaydli expressed pride in honoring Kuwaiti factories that won the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining's (AIDSMO) third-cycle award in recognition of outstanding Arab-level institutional performance.
"This achievement comes as no surprise for our 'national industry' that dedicates efforts to achieve excellence and leadership across various platforms," he said, adding that Kuwaiti factories' participation in such Arab and international awards highlights Kuwait's active role in promoting Arab economic integration and confirms its position in industrial excellence capable of regional and global competition.
"These awards serve as motivation to continue development and exchange expertise to serve our greater Arab industrial progress," he added.
For his part, PAI's official spokesperson Waleed Al-Majeni stated in a similar speech that the honoring ceremony confirms PAI's endeavor to support and develop Kuwait's industrial sector to keep pace with modern developments according to international practices and standards.
Al-Majeni added that this recognition appreciates industrial institutions adopting continuous development policies per international standards and seeking institutional performance improvement, stressing the importance of encouraging Arab industrial establishments across sectors to enhance efficiency, rationalize costs, and improve product quality.
Launched in 2010 by AIDSMO, the Arab Quality Award aims to encourage Arab industrial establishments across sectors to improve efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance product quality.
In its third cycle (2023/2024), two Kuwaiti participants won: Kuwait Drilling Fluids & Oil Services Company (KDF) and Kuwait Insulating Material Manufacturing Company (KIMCO).
