The ban on Huawei in Europe threatens to increase telecommunications costs by 40 billion euros..

The European Union's plans to ban Huawei's 5G equipment are facing heated debate among policymakers and major telecom companies across the continent.

Recent reports reveal that 17 executives from European telecom companies, including Orange, Deutsche Telekom, and Telefonica, have written an open letter warning of the significant financial repercussions of such a move.

The European Union is continuing to explore new measures under its Digital Network Act aimed at excluding suppliers deemed high-risk for security, a move focused on Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE.

The proposal would give European telecommunications companies up to three years to remove any Chinese equipment from their networks.
