Microsoft has announced the rollout of the new Xbox mode on Windows 11 in a number of select markets, with a gradual rollout to desktops, laptops, and tablets.

This mode offers a gaming-inspired experience, making it easier to access games through a full-screen interface designed for use via a controller, while organizing the library and recently played games in one place, along with minimizing background distractions.

Xbox Mode also allows for easy browsing and playing of games using the controller, with support for a unified library that includes Xbox Game Pass games as well as games installed from various PC platforms.Meanwhile, users can switch between Xbox mode and the Windows 11 desktop at any time, offering greater flexibility. This experience was first introduced on Windows mobile devices under the name "Full Screen Mode," before being further developed based on user feedback.

To get the feature, go to Settings, then Windows Update and activate the option to get updates as soon as they are available. Note that the feature will arrive gradually over the coming weeks, and may not be available to all devices immediately.
