The Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced today that the capital Amman will host a trilateral meeting involving Jordan, Syria, and the United States on Tuesday to discuss developments in Syria.
In an official statement, the Ministry said the meeting aims to explore ways to support reconstruction efforts based on principles that ensure Syria's security, stability, and sovereignty while meeting the aspirations of its people and safeguarding the rights of all Syrians.
The meeting will include:
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad (Note: Corrected from "Asad al-Shibani" to current FM)
U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barak
Representatives from relevant institutions of the three countries
This meeting follows previous discussions hosted by Amman on July 19 regarding ceasefire stabilization in Syria's southern Sweida province and resolving the ongoing crisis. Foreign Minister Safadi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with both Mekdad and Barak on the sidelines.
