The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a Saturday release that this came during a Friday evening phone call between Dr. Abdelatty and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, part of ongoing consultations on regional developments—particularly the situation in Gaza.

The statement detailed that Abdelatty briefed Wadephul on:

• The catastrophic humanitarian and medical crisis in Gaza

• Progress in ceasefire negotiations

• Egypt's efforts to ensure humanitarian aid access, stressing the need to remove Israeli-imposed obstacles to full, unconditional delivery

The ministers also addressed the severely negative repercussions of recent Israeli statements and policies. Abdelatty specifically highlighted the dangers of:

• Delusional "Greater Israel" rhetoric

• Settlement unit construction in occupied Jerusalem
  Both agreed these policies gravely threaten regional security and stability.
