An Emirates passenger plane made an emergency landing at Esenboğa Airport in Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday following a malfunction in one of its engines.
According to Turkey's Anadolu Agency, the Airbus A320-214 aircraft, operated by Air Arabia, was en route from Sharjah to Istanbul when its left engine experienced a sudden failure mid-flight.
The pilot declared an emergency and decided to divert to Esenboğa Airport, where the aircraft successfully landed using only one engine.
The agency reported that rescue and firefighting teams at Esenboğa Airport took all necessary precautions around the runway and emergency holding points.
The plane was carrying 144 passengers along with crew members. After the safe landing, the aircraft was towed to a designated parking area under emergency team supervision, while all passengers were evacuated to the terminal building without any reported injuries.
