The General Directorate of Civil Aviation stated today, Saturday, that the civil aviation sector played a significant national role during the brutal invasion period, as its dedicated personnel worked to preserve airport infrastructure and document violations against its facilities.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) marking the 35th anniversary of the brutal invasion of Kuwait on August 2nd, the Directorate said: "We recall with pain and sorrow those difficult moments our nation endured, remembering the blatant aggression against our country's sovereignty, security, and stability."

The statement added: "Civil Aviation employees took the initiative to document violations and crimes against airport facilities, including the destruction of several vital installations and essential equipment. This documentation later enabled the state to present irrefutable evidence of these aggressions."

The Directorate paid tribute to the souls of Kuwait's righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the nation's land and honor, stating their sacrifices would remain a guiding light for future generations.

It affirmed that Kuwait today lives in freedom and sovereignty, declaring: "We pledge to God, His Highness the Amir of the beloved nation, His Highness the trustworthy Crown Prince (may God protect and preserve them), and our wise leadership that we will remain faithful to the martyrs' sacrifices, continuing our path of development and progress while enhancing Kuwait's position in regional and international civil aviation."

The Directorate emphasized that Kuwait will always remain loyal to its righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, praying to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy upon them and to maintain Kuwait's blessings of security and safety.
