Qatar strongly condemns the armed attack on military sites in northern Benin..

On Saturday, the State of Qatar issued a strong condemnation of the armed attack that targeted military sites in northern Benin several days ago, resulting in the deaths of more than 50 soldiers.

In an official statement, Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country's firm position rejecting all forms of violence, terrorism, and criminal acts regardless of motives or justifications. The ministry expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The Beninese government had previously announced the death of 54 soldiers in a terrorist attack on military positions near the borders with Burkina Faso and Niger on the 17th of this month. The attack, which occurred in Benin's northern region, has been claimed by the al-Qaeda terrorist organization.

This incident marks one of the deadliest attacks in Benin's recent history as the West African nation faces growing security challenges along its northern borders with the Sahel region.
