Zainab Al-Amin, Microsoft's Executive Vice President of Digital Transformation, said the company plans to launch a cloud region in Saudi Arabia this November, a move aimed at supporting the expansion of cloud services and artificial intelligence in the Kingdom.

She added that the region will include three infrastructure-independent data centers, enabling higher levels of sustainability and business continuity.

Al-Amin pointed to a study predicting that Microsoft's cloud services will contribute more than $44 billion to the Saudi economy by 2030, in addition to creating approximately 100,000 jobs, including 30,000 in the IT sector.

She stated that Microsoft is committed to training 3 million Saudi men and women in artificial intelligence skills by 2030, adding that the company has trained approximately 1.6 million people in AI fundamentals since April.
