Google has announced three new AI models under the Gemini family: Gemini 3.6 Flash, an option that combines speed and cost balance; the fastest in its class, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite; and finally, Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, which specializes in cybersecurity.
3.6 Flash is an updated version of 3.5 Flash, which was launched last May. Google says it consumes up to 17% fewer tokens than the previous generation, according to the Artificial Analysis Index, and savings in some programming tests, such as DeepSWE, reach up to 65%.
The model's performance in direct computer use tasks has also improved, reaching a success rate of 83% compared to 78.4% in the previous version. Additionally, Gemini Flash 3.6 is cheaper than its predecessor!
The 3.5 Flash-Lite is the lightest and cheapest in the new family, and Google says it even outperforms the older and larger 3 Flash model in some tests, such as SWE-Bench Pro and the OSWorld-Verified computer control test.
Finally, there's the Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber model, which focuses on finding security vulnerabilities at an affordable price and will only be available to governments and trusted Google partners.
