Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait announced a comprehensive plan to develop the General Department of Experts, foremost among which is the complete Kuwaitization of the department by August 1, 2026. This will be achieved by terminating the services of all non-Kuwaiti employees working as engineering experts, accountants, and legal researchers. This step places national expertise at the heart of the technical support system for the judiciary, transferring all expert responsibilities across various specializations entirely to Kuwaiti experts, and raising the quality of technical reports and enhancing confidence in their outputs.
As part of strengthening institutional discipline, the plan includes activating a fingerprint attendance system starting June 1, in addition to allocating weekly open days for the Acting Head of the General Department of Experts, Dr. Fawaz Jassim Boudi, and his deputies for governorate affairs, to directly address the concerns of individuals and lawyers.
Al-Sumait revealed that the next phase will witness the development of the department's services electronically, the redistribution of work among experts through a fairer and more efficient mechanism, and the implementation of a periodic rotation of experts to solidify transparency and raise performance levels. He emphasized that developing this department represents a fundamental pillar in the modernization of the justice system in Kuwait.
