Steam denies banning some games from early availability after pressure from payment companies..

Adult game developers are having an increasingly difficult time promoting their business, especially after the pressure exerted by online payment companies on platforms such as Steam and Itch.io, which led to the removal of a number of bold games from store listings.

Recently, Steam informed a number of developers that their games don't meet the Early Access requirements, before the platform seems to be starting to revise its stance.Writer Anna Valens, who previously faced censorship for her articles on the subject, explained via Bluesky that a developer shared a response from Steam support about the early availability criteria.

The response stated that the platform studies each game individually and that there is no general policy that prevents a particular type of game from participating in the early access model.

Despite this more flexible statement, the developers of mature games remain in a state of uncertainty, due to the lack of a clear policy or firm guidance from the company.

At the end of August, the developer of Heavy Hearts received a completely different response, informing that games with mature content could not participate in the program.
