Jasem Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), stated that the 165th Ministerial Meeting of the GCC will be held tomorrow, Monday, in Kuwait. The meeting will be chaired by Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, the current president of the Ministerial Council, and will be attended by the foreign ministers of the GCC member states.
Al-Budaiwi added in a press statement on Sunday that following the meeting, the second Joint Ministerial Meeting between the GCC and Japan will also be held, chaired by Japanese Foreign Minister Takeši Iwaya.
He explained that during its session, the GCC Ministerial Council will review several reports on the follow-up of decisions made by the Supreme Council of the GCC at its 45th Summit in Kuwait, as well as memoranda and reports submitted by ministerial and technical committees and the General Secretariat. The Council will also discuss matters related to strategic dialogues and relations between GCC states and global countries and blocs, in addition to the latest regional and international developments in the area.
Regarding the GCC-Japan meeting, he noted that it is part of the GCC countries' efforts to enhance their relations with nations and organizations worldwide. The meeting will address several key topics, most notably the joint action plan between the two sides, in addition to ongoing consultations, coordination, and exchanges of views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. This aims to support and enhance security and stability in the region.
