In southeastern Oman, the (Dhofar Autumn 2025) season welcomes visitors to the province with exceptional weather, transforming this region into a vibrant natural painting. The rains nourish the earth, and mist envelops the mountain slopes, creating a scene that opens its doors to nature and tourism enthusiasts seeking a unique experience in one of the region's most prominent tourist destinations.

Alongside this scenery, the province of (Dhofar) tells a story of thousands of years of history, from the civilization of frankincense and flowing springs to formidable forts and castles, in addition to its diverse beaches that offer visitors a comprehensive tourism experience.

During the autumn season, (Dhofar) transforms into a green carpet that narrates the harmony between natural beauty and the deep heritage embraced by Oman, forming a unique season that combines tourism and cultural identity.

During the (Dhofar Autumn) season (which lasts from June to September), drizzles fall, temperatures drop, and the mountains and plains turn into a green carpet in a unique scene that makes (Dhofar) an icon visited by thousands of visitors, while neighboring regions experience high temperatures during the summer.

Oman boasts diverse destinations that offer services and products catering to various segments of tourists, solidifying its position as a preferred tourism destination for those wishing to explore its rich culture and learn about the ancient Omani society with its authentic Arab heritage. Among the most prominent sites visited by tourists during the autumn season are Wadi Darbat, Ain Athum, Ain Jarzeiz, Ain Sahalnoot, and Ain Razat, in addition to Ain Kor and Ain Hamran, surrounded by trees such as sidr and coconut palms.

Visitors also find several khors (inlets) adjacent to the beaches, the most famous of which are Khor Salalah, Khor Al-Baleed, Khor Al-Dahareez, Khor Awqad, and Khor Al-Qurm. These are natural reserves rich in wildlife and host many bird species, such as flamingos, in addition to migratory birds that reside there during certain seasons, attracting birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.

The governorate of (Salalah) also contains tourist, cultural, and historical landmarks, such as Al-Husn Souq, a traditional old market famous for selling incense, frankincense products, and various handicrafts, in addition to Al-Haffa Beach Souq, the ancient village of Sumhuram, Al-Baleed Archaeological Park, Bait Khowan, and Askar Tower.

Visitors also find themselves amidst folk displays pulsating with Omani colors and interactive villages that narrate the details of ancient life, offering a journey through time that connects the past with the present, such as Awqad Park, which welcomes families with (Kids' Time) activities designed to educate children in an entertaining way, while (Return to the Past) activities provide a panoramic image of Omani heritage through handicraft markets and traditional activities that reflect the authenticity of the society.

Tourists' visits are not limited to the (Dhofar Autumn) season to see Dhofar alone but extend to neighboring states rich in tourist and heritage attractions, such as the states of Taqa, Mirbat, Thamrait, Sadah, Mqshin, Rakhyut, Dhalkut, and Al-Mazyunah.

The impact of the season goes beyond entertainment and tourism to form an important economic and social tributary, as the events contribute to supporting small and medium enterprises and providing job opportunities for local youth, while also giving craftspeople the opportunity to market their products in open markets for visitors from various Gulf countries and the world.

Over the past years, the Sultanate has witnessed a clear shift in developing its tourism facilities, as efforts have expanded to include promoting destinations during the summer as well, with a focus on sites with moderate weather that host various family activities and events.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is also working to develop the infrastructure of the sector and encourage integrated projects that attract visitors from all over the world while preserving the national identity and cultural specificity of the Sultanate.

The ministry urges relevant authorities to launch summer offers at competitive prices and market them in international exhibitions and forums so that tourists ultimately find that Omani destinations are rich in experiences worth visiting and exploring, keeping (Dhofar) at the heart of every season as a symbol of natural beauty and cultural richness.
