Apple Launches iOS 18.61 Update | Is it worth downloading?..

The blood oxygen measurement feature is coming back to some users in the United States with the iOS 18.6.1 sub-update.

Apple was forced to suspend the feature after lawsuits from Massimo. There is little change for those outside the United States.

Aside from the beta wave in IOS 26 with a liquid glass design, Apple released the last major update to iOS 18, which is IOS 18.6.

One of its most prominent features was the improvement in performance and battery for many users, in addition to closing a few security vulnerabilities and fixing some problems in some applications.

Now Apple has launched its first sub-update, IOS 18.6.1, with a size of about 500 MB, which provides only one change, which is the restoration of the Blood Oxygen Saturation or SpO feature for some users in the United States after the feature was disabled for a period due to a ban imposed by the US International Trade Commission.

"This update introduces a new blood oxygen app experience for users in the U.S. who are using Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Measurements are calculated on iPhone and displayed in the Health app."

- Apple's description of the update

Specifically affected users are those who purchased the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, or Watch Ultra 2 after January 17, 2024 within the United States.
