US President Donald Trump has called on Intel CEO Lib Botan to resign immediately, against the backdrop of reports that he is linked to a number of Chinese technology companies, which has raised concerns related to US national security.

Trump's call came via a post on his Truth Social platform, in which he said that the CEO of Intel has a very much conflict of interest and should resign immediately. There is no other solution to this problem. Thank you for your interest!.

Trump's comments come after Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas asked Intel's chairman whether Tan's alleged ties to Chinese entities could be in conflict with national security regulations.

Intel announced the appointment of Leep Bo Tan as chief executive in March, as part of a plan to restructure the company's troubled business, following the firing of his predecessor, Pat Gelsinger, who did not complete the four-year term to reform the company.
