Kaspersky: 42% of children in the region want to become content creators..

A new survey conducted by Kaspersky has shown a significant shift in the interests and aspirations of children in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (MEA) region, where traditional jobs are no longer the first choice for the new generation, but the digital content industry has become a goal that many are striving to achieve.

The survey showed that 42% of children want to become content creators in the future, reflecting the impact of the digital age on them, as smart devices are no longer a tool for entertainment, but rather a window into a new career that is shaped in the minds of young people early.

This desire goes beyond wishful thinking: 44% of children surveyed say they are already developing their own blogs or working on future content, indicating that they are serious about the field.

These findings underscore the importance of understanding how children deal with the digital world, and the need to guide them towards using these tools in a positive and productive way, rather than just passive consumption of content.

The survey was conducted by Kaspersky in collaboration with Toluna Research Agency, which included 5,000 interviews with parents and children aged 3 to 17 years, in five countries: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey and South Africa.

But what motivates children to enter the world of content creation?

The results of the Kaspersky survey show that children's motivations for becoming content creators are varied, including:

Fame: 53% of children said that fame is one of the main reasons they want to pursue this career.

Enjoyment: 46% of young people report that they enjoy creating visual content.

Profit: 36% of respondents believe that blogging is an easy way to make money effortlessly.

Trendy: 32% of them chose blogging because it's trendy.

These figures reflect a cultural and behavioral shift in the concerns of the new generation, who see digital platforms as a legitimate and ambitious professional field.

What do parents think about choosing their children?

The survey shows a clear divergence in parents' attitudes towards their children's ambition to become content creators, including:

Agree:

16% of parents agree that their children will pursue this profession in the future.

Temporary rejection:

44% of parents believe that content creation is not an acceptable profession at the current age stage.

Total rejection:

25% of the parents rejected this idea completely.

These figures reveal a conflict between children's view of the digital world as a professional starting point, and parents' fears that may be related to the instability of this profession, its impact on their children's education, and even the nature of the content they will provide.

However, the survey showed that the majority of parents are not absolutely opposed to this approach, with 74% of them supporting or at least not rejecting this approach, which shows that the vast majority of parents are flexible and willing to discuss and understand this matter, which provides an opportunity to provide guidance and support to children, rather than outright rejection that may hinder their growth and passion.
