On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing a task force charged with ensuring the success of the 2028 Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.
In the executive order text, Trump stated: "The United States will host the 2028 Summer Olympics, one of the most prominent international sporting events of the 21st century. This extraordinary occasion provides a powerful opportunity to showcase American strength, pride, and patriotism while welcoming the world to our shores."
He added: *"The federal government will lead a coordinated effort to ensure the highest levels of safety, border security, and world-class transportation for millions of visitors throughout the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games."*
It is worth noting that the United States will also co-host the upcoming FIFA World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.
