Intel lays off 24,000 employees, what's going on with it?..

Intel, formerly the processor and chip manufacturing giant, has unveiled a plan to reduce its workforce by about 24,000 employees in 2025, representing about a quarter of its core staff, in one of the largest moves in its recent history.

The announcement was part of the company's second-quarter results, which showed a clear trend of restructuring and cost cuts, including the abandonment of expansion projects in Germany and Poland, and the closure of assembly and testing operations in Costa Rica.

Shocking numbers and layoffs have been going on since April!

At the end of 2024, Intel had an estimated 110,000 employees, of which about 99,500 were classified as "core employees." By the end of 2025, the company plans to reach just 75,000, a reduction of nearly 24,000 employees.
