Kuwaiti Ambassador in Lisbon Discusses Academic Cooperation with Leading Portuguese University for Kuwaiti Student Scholarships..

Kuwait's Ambassador to Lisbon Hamad Al-Hazeem discussed academic cooperation opportunities with ISCTE University, recognized as one of Portugal's leading institutions, as part of preparations to send Kuwaiti students for studies there.

In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday, Ambassador Al-Hazeem said he held discussions with Professor Maria João Cortinhal, Vice President of the Board for International Relations at ISCTE, and Professor Maria de Lourdes Rodrigues, Dean of the Business School. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and academic ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Al-Hazeem noted that ISCTE ranks among the top 50 globally in some specialized programs and holds a distinguished position in international business education.

Established 52 years ago, the university comprises five main faculties: Social Sciences and Humanities, Business Administration, Sociology and Public Policy, Technology and Engineering, and Technology and Digitalization.

He highlighted that ISCTE offers multiple English-taught programs at bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. levels, making it an attractive option for non-Portuguese-speaking students.

The ambassador added that the university is ready to collaborate with Kuwait's National Academic Accreditation Authority to facilitate Kuwaiti student scholarships.

He stressed that Portugal is an ideal study destination due to its excellent academic environment, safety, reasonable living costs, and prestigious higher education institutions.

Ambassador Al-Hazeem noted that Kuwait has not yet accredited any Portuguese university, emphasizing that such cultural cooperation could foster positive relations between the Kuwaiti and Portuguese people and open new avenues for educational and cultural exchange.

He pointed out that Portugal is home to several other globally ranked universities, including the University of Lisbon (ranked 260th), NOVA University (327th), and the Catholic University (351st), further solidifying its status as a prominent educational hub.
