Britain calls on China to stop targeting opposition voices..

Britain on Friday called on both China and the authorities in Hong Kong to end the deliberate targeting of opposition voices in the UK and abroad, after Hong Kong issued new arrest warrants for Chinese activists residing in the UK.A joint statement by British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and Home Secretary Bethlehem Cooper said the United Kingdom "strongly opposes the national security law, which has undermined the rights and freedoms of Hong Kong residents," reaffirming its commitment to "human rights, the rule of law, and the safety of all individuals on its territory."The statement added that the United Kingdom will take "additional steps to complete the disengagement of the extradition systems between the United Kingdom and Hong Kong by lifting the latter from the Extradition Act of 2003."
