The Jordanian Minister of Culture: The State of Kuwait is a true incubator of Arab culture..

Jordan’s Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, said on Thursday that the State of Kuwait is a true incubator of Arab culture and has always been at the forefront of promoting the Arab cultural movement.

Al-Rawashdeh made these remarks to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after inaugurating Kuwait’s pavilion at the Embassies Exhibition, held as part of the 39th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, which was opened by Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on Wednesday and will continue until August 3.

He added that Kuwait’s participation is rich in Kuwaiti heritage and civilization, noting that Kuwait is one of the leading countries in cultural aspects and preserving heritage and traditional crafts.

In a similar statement to KUNA, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (representing Kuwait’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi), said that Kuwait is always keen to participate in the Jerash Festival, one of the most prestigious cultural and artistic festivals in the Arab world.

He noted that Kuwait’s participation in the 39th edition of the festival highlights cultural and heritage aspects by offering publications from the National Council, including Al-Arabi magazine, World of ThoughtWorld of Knowledge, and a collection of books by Kuwaiti authors, distributed for free at the pavilion.

Al-Jassar mentioned that this year’s festival features Kuwaiti artisans showcasing traditional crafts such as shipbuilding and Bisht (cloak) making, along with a Kuwaiti Diwaniya corner designed inside the pavilion, allowing visitors to experience Kuwaiti hospitality, cuisine, and social traditions.

He also explained that the Kuwaiti delegation met with Jordan’s Minister of Culture, Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, on the sidelines of the festival to discuss Kuwaiti-Jordanian cultural relations and exchange in various fields.

An agreement was reached between Kuwait Cultural Library and Jordan’s National Library to cooperate in library organization and digitization to enhance knowledge exchange.

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan, Hamad Al-Marri, told KUNA that the Jerash Festival, which has continued successfully for 39 years, is one of the most important cultural and artistic festivals in the Arab world, fostering cross-cultural exchange.

He noted that Kuwait continues its annual participation, especially as Kuwait holds the title of "Arab Culture Capital" this year. Such festivals, he added, bring nations closer, particularly Arab countries, by celebrating shared heritage, customs, and traditions while strengthening people-to-people ties.
