The Sultanate of Oman strongly condemned on Thursday the Israeli occupation's attacks on Syria and its national sovereignty, describing them as a flagrant violation of international law.
In a statement, the Omani Foreign Ministry stated that Muscat reiterates its urgent appeal to the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Syrian territories.
The ministry demanded an immediate cessation of all hostile actions affecting civilian lives and called for the implementation of a comprehensive political solution in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2254, which aims to restore stability in Syria through a Syrian-led transitional process.
Oman reaffirmed its full support for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, standing in solidarity with the Syrian people. It urged intensified international efforts to protect civilians and alleviate their suffering through the provision of necessary humanitarian assistance.
This statement came after the Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation had conducted airstrikes targeting sites in Daraa city, southern Syria. The Syrian Health Ministry's media office reported that one person was killed and 18 others wounded in strikes on the capital Damascus.
