NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania – The Second International Conference on Sustainable Development commenced today, Saturday, in Mauritania's capital, Nouakchott, under the theme "Empowering Youth to Secure the Present and Build the Future."

The Mauritanian News Agency reported that the conference, organized by the Mauritanian Center for Project Management Studies, aims to enhance the role of youth in sustainable development and equip them with the necessary skills to meet labor market demands.

The agency added that the event was held with support from several Mauritanian ministries, including the Ministries of Environment, Vocational Training, and Youth Empowerment. It emphasized that the conference serves as a platform for exchanging experiences on empowering young talent and strengthening their role in public policymaking.

The conference brings together officials, experts, and representatives of scientific and development organizations from Arab countries in an effort to develop a shared vision supporting youth contributions to building a more sustainable future.
