The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced on Thursday that Saudi Arabia's Industrial Production Quantity Index increased by 1.5% in May 2025 compared to May 2024.

In its Industrial Production Index bulletin, GASTAT attributed this growth primarily to increased activity in:

• Mining and quarrying

• Manufacturing

• Water supply

• Sewage, waste management, and remediation activities

Sectoral Breakdown:

1. Mining and Quarrying sub-index rose 2.1% year-on-year

2. Manufacturing sub-index increased 0.9%

3. Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply declined 7.7%

4. Water Supply, Sewage, Waste Management surged 15.5%
