Syrian authorities announced on Saturday an agreement with Turkey to jointly combat the wildfires raging in the forested areas of Latakia province in northwestern Syria.

• Deployment of 2 firefighting helicopters

• 11 firefighting vehicles to assist in suppression operations

Syrian Minister of Local Administration and Environment Raed Al-Saleh stated:
"While intervention was planned for Friday evening, new wildfires in Turkey delayed the arrival of support teams until Saturday morning."
