Kuwait's Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan affirmed on Sunday Kuwait's commitment to benefiting from pioneering railway sector experiences, particularly those achieved by the sisterly United Arab Emirates through the establishment of Etihad Rail Company.

This came during Minister Al-Mashaan's reception of a delegation from UAE's Etihad Rail, led by CEO Eng. Shadi Malak. She emphasized that this visit falls within the framework of enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchanging expertise among GCC states in infrastructure development.

The minister highlighted the exemplary Etihad Rail project - the joint UAE-Oman railway initiative - as a successful model for Gulf integration in infrastructure projects.

Al-Mashaan clarified that cooperation in this field with Gulf nations reflects Kuwait's commitment to supporting GCC integration pathways and strengthening economic and geographic ties among Council states. She stressed the importance of continuous technical team coordination to ensure implementation of qualitative projects meeting regional development needs.

Undersecretary Eid Al-Rashidi stated that the ministry prioritizes leveraging successful Gulf experiences in this domain, noting that early-stage cooperation on such projects contributes to establishing a sustainable railway network enhancing regional connectivity and supporting shared development goals.

The meeting featured a technical presentation on Kuwait's future railway projects. Minister Al-Mashaan outlined the ministry's vision for building a sustainable national railway network based on regional best practices, while considering environmental and economic dimensions in line with the state's sustainable development aspirations.
