The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed on Saturday the signing of a peace agreement between the governments of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda in the U.S. capital Washington, describing it as an important step toward ending conflict and establishing stability, peace, and sustainable prosperity in the Great Lakes region and across the African continent.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's appreciation for the role played by the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump in sponsoring the signing of this historic agreement, with mediation from the State of Qatar. The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain's support for regional and international efforts aimed at ending wars and resolving all conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means, which would enhance international peace and security.

The statement emphasized Bahrain's firm position in supporting all initiatives that promote peaceful solutions to conflicts and contribute to strengthening global stability and security.
