The Club World Cup... Tunisian club (Esperance) loses its first match against Brazilian club (Flamengo) with a score of 2-0..

The match, held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, saw a moderately paced first half with the Brazilian side dominating possession. Flamengo broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Giorgian de Arrascaeta, who finished off a well-worked team move.

Esperance attempted to fight back in the second half, launching several attacks, but Flamengo regained control. Their dominance was rewarded in the 70th minute when Luiz Araújo doubled the lead with a clinical strike, sealing the victory for his team.

With this result, Flamengo tops Group 4 with three points, alongside England’s Chelsea, who earlier defeated LAFC by the same scoreline. Meanwhile, Esperance and the American side sit at the bottom of the group without any points.

This edition of the tournament features an expanded and entirely new format, with 32 clubs divided into eight groups of four. A total of 63 matches will be played, with the competition running until July 13.
