Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held discussions today, Friday, with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi regarding the Israeli attack on Iran.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry stated in an announcement that Prince Faisal discussed in a phone call with Minister Safadi the Israeli aggression on Iranian territory and its regional repercussions, along with ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.
In a separate statement, the Ministry confirmed that Prince Faisal also held a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Abdelatty, during which they addressed the Israeli assault on Iran, its regional consequences, and initiatives to calm the situation.
Earlier today, Iranian state television reported that the country had come under Israeli attack, resulting in numerous casualties. Iran confirmed the deaths of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces; IRGC Commander General Hossein Salami; along with several other IRGC leaders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The Israeli strikes also targeted vital nuclear facilities and residential areas.
