The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned on Friday the blatant Israeli attacks on Iran, describing them as a flagrant violation of Iran's sovereignty and security, as well as international laws and norms.

In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat called upon the international community and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities regarding this aggression, which threatens to undermine peace, security and stability throughout the region, urging immediate and decisive action to halt it.

Earlier today, Iranian state television announced that the country had been subjected to an Israeli attack that resulted in numerous casualties. Iran confirmed the killing of Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with several other IRGC leaders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The attacks also targeted vital nuclear facilities and residential areas across the country.
