Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar affirmed that the State of Kuwait's partnership with Google Cloud enhances the efficiency of the digital government and opens new horizons for the automation of government services, as well as aims to improve the quality of public services.Al-Omar told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday, following his meeting with Chris Lindsay, Vice President of Engineering at Google Cloud for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who is currently visiting the country, that this visit comes within the framework of the ministry's efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships with major global technology companies and open new horizons in the field of automating government services and developing the country's technical infrastructure.He added that this partnership represents the cornerstone of the national roadmap for automating government services, "through which we seek to build an integrated and secure technical environment that enables government agencies to provide highly efficient services based on a flexible cloud infrastructure and advanced analytics capabilities, achieving optimal data utilization and enhancing information security."He explained that the agreement with Google Cloud enables vital ministries, most notably the Ministries of Finance and Justice, to develop their systems and transfer them to advanced cloud platforms, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of government performance, improving the quality of public services, facilitating procedures, and supporting data-driven decision-making.Al-Omar affirmed that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is continuing to coordinate with key ministries and entities across the country to support the automation of their services and enhance the integration of their government systems by making optimal use of advanced cloud solutions provided by Google Cloud, within the framework of a comprehensive vision aimed at building an advanced digital infrastructure, developing national competencies, and ensuring the provision of smart, secure, and comprehensive government services.He stated that a Google Cloud delegation met yesterday, Wednesday, with the Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Eng. Noura Al-Fassam, and the discussions addressed mechanisms for transferring financial systems to a secure cloud environment, which would enhance operational efficiency, support government data management, and contribute to achieving transparency and developing financial policies based on accurate analyses, in line with the goals of the New Kuwait 2035 Vision.He also noted that a Google Cloud delegation met with a number of Ministry of Justice leaders to discuss ways to leverage advanced cloud solutions to support the ministry's digital infrastructure and develop judicial systems and electronic legal services, which will help simplify procedures, speed up completion, and enhance the efficiency of judicial work.
