The Beirut International Book Fair concludes its events amid a huge turnout..

The 66th edition of the Beirut International Arab Book Fair concluded today, Sunday, after running from May 15 to 25, featuring a series of morning and evening seminars and events.

Over its 11-day run, the fair hosted nearly 60 panel discussions covering politics, culture, literature, poetry, and music, along with tributes to prominent intellectuals and writers. Additionally, over 300 book signings took place.

The fair also saw heavy student turnout, with more than 10,000 students from over 200 schools, universities, institutes, and scout associations in attendance. Around 16 dedicated children’s activities were organized, alongside a special photo exhibition that added a unique touch to the event.

Tens of thousands of visitors from diverse age groups and regions flocked to the fair, reflecting Lebanon’s enduring enthusiasm for cultural engagement despite ongoing challenges.

In their closing statement, the organizers emphasized that this edition "once again proved Beirut remains the cultural capital of the Arab world, despite political and economic crises." They acknowledged that the event’s success "entrusts them with greater responsibility to deliver an even more exceptional edition next year."

Several participants in the seminars and side exhibitions praised the smooth organization and diverse programming, affirming that "print books retain their charm and relevance despite the digital shift" and that the fair’s discussions "created a genuine meeting space for authors and readers."
