Chinese duo clinches mixed doubles title at World Table Tennis Championships..

 China's world No. 2 table tennis pair Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha secured the mixed doubles title on Saturday at the ongoing 59th ITTF World Table Tennis Championships (Doha 2025) being held at Lusail Arena in Qatar's capital.

The Chinese pair claimed victory after defeating 16th-ranked Japanese duo Maharu Yoshimura and Satsuki Odo 3-1 (11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8) in the finals.

This marks the pair's third consecutive mixed doubles world championship title, having previously won the 2021 and 2023 editions.

Following the match, Khalil Al-Mohannadi, President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association and Asian Table Tennis Union, and ITTF Deputy President, presented the champions with their gold medals and championship trophy.

ITTF CEO Steve Dainton awarded silver medals to the Japanese runners-up, while bronze medals went to:

  • Hong Kong's world No. 3 pair Wong Chun Ting and Doo Hoi Kem

  • Japan's world No. 4 pair Jun Mizutani and Mima Ito

The championships, which began on May 17 with 640 players from 127 countries, will conclude Sunday with four finals in men's/women's singles and doubles events.
