President of the Arab Scout Organization and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Scout Association, Dr. Abdullah Al-Taraji, said on Saturday that Kuwait's hosting of the 31st World Friendship Conference for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, scheduled for October 2027, reflects global appreciation for its standing and role in spreading the values of peace and friendship.Al-Taraji added in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the World Organization of the Scouts' recent announcement that Kuwait had won the bid to host this conference after competing with Mexico, Ghana and Senegal confirms its pioneering role in supporting scouting and humanitarian work, as it is "the first Arab country to host this global conference."He explained that Kuwait's hosting of this event embodies the continuous support the state provides to the youth and scouting sectors, in addition to the status the State of Kuwait enjoys globally and its ability to organize major events efficiently and competently. He highly valued the royal patronage and continuous support for the youth and scouting sectors, commending the tireless efforts of the Minister of Education, Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, in achieving this accomplishment and activating the role of scouting in society.
