The meeting, chaired by OCA Director General Husain Al-Musallam, began with an address by newly elected International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry of Zimbabwe. She emphasized sport's vital role as a unifying force that empowers athletes to express themselves and engage actively in their communities, expressing pride in attending this major continental gathering.
